Section 1 – What do we do with your information?
House of Serene collects your information when you purchase something from our store. As part of the buying and selling process we collect the personal information you give us, such as your name, address and email address. With your permission, we may send you emails about our store, new products and other updates.
Section 2 – How your data is stored, and payments
Our online store runs on a complete ERP system that allows us to sell our products and services to you. Your data is held in our own customised ERP databases, on a secure server behind a firewall.
Card payments are taken by Stripe, and PayPal is also available; you are passed to the payment provider to pay. We do not store any card information in our own database — we only record the response from the payment service. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.
Section 3 – What information do we collect and how do we obtain it?
We receive information in one of two ways: directly from you when you register with us, or from a third party such as data houses. If you register with us you will be asked to provide certain information — your name, address, telephone number and email address — so that we can process and fulfil your order, notify you of your order status and inform you of special offers and promotions.
Section 4 – How do we use your information?
We use the information we collect about you to:
- process your orders;
- manage your account;
- monitor customer traffic patterns and site usage to help us develop and improve the design and layout of the site; and
- notify you about enhancements to our services, such as changes to the website, new services and special offers that may be of interest.
Section 5 – Changes to this privacy policy
We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time, so please review it frequently. Changes and clarifications take effect immediately upon their posting on the website. If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you here that it has been updated, so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we use and/or disclose it. If our store is acquired or merged with another company, your information may be transferred to the new owners so that we may continue to sell products to you.
Section 6 – Security
To protect your personal information we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed. Payment details are encrypted using secure socket layer (SSL) technology. Although no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, we follow all PCI-DSS requirements and implement additional generally accepted industry standards.
